Types of powder coating
- Powder coating based on polyester compositions is the most common type of powder coating used to cover metal surfaces

Stages of powder coating of metal products:
- Surface preparation is a stage in which dirt and oxides are removed from the surface of the product, it is thoroughly degreased and treated with a special chemical composition. Preliminary preparation significantly improves adhesion, ensures the durability of the paint coating and the reliability of protection of painted products from corrosion, therefore it is mandatory to obtain the maximum result.
- Spraying of powder paint – the stage at which the process of spraying powder paint takes place in special chambers for painting. Paint is applied to the surface of metal products with the help of guns. It is a mixture of pigment dye particles and rubber. The guns give the particles an electric charge, thanks to which they are attracted to the surface of the product being painted and are held there until the next stage.
- Polymerization of the applied paint is the stage at which the colored product undergoes the polymerization process. The product is heated, as a result of which the paint particles melt and spread over the surface, firmly connecting with it. After the product cools down, the powder coating of the metal is considered complete.
- Cooling after polymerization is the stage at which the products cool down after polymerization and are ready for packaging.
Equipment for powder painting of metal products
- Spray guns. With the help of a gun, the process of spraying paint on the surface takes place, and the guns also give the paint particles an electric charge, due to which they are attracted to the surface of the product being painted and kept on it until the next stage.
- Camera for painting. This is a specialized equipped room in which powder paint is applied to the surface of a metal product. The paint chamber has two openings (inlet and outlet), it is equipped with a fan, a collector, a control panel and a number of other devices.
- Polymerization furnaces. It is used for thermal fixing of paint on the surface of the metal product to be painted. This oven is equipped with heating elements that heat the air in the oven (and with it the product) to a temperature of 130-220°C in less than half an hour. The paint, which is in the form of powder on the surface of the product, melts and forms a thin film that firmly adheres to the metal base. The polymerization time, as a rule, varies from 10 to 30 minutes.
